ADOPTING A GOVERNMENT SCHOOL BY AAHWAHAN FOUNDSATION
Aahwahan
Foundation is a grass-roots NGO with a presence across India that works to
elevate the most vulnerable members of society through a number of programs. NGO works in Education, health, environment, women empowerment and community development are
the five key sectors in which the organisation works. Our team, which is
comprised of young individuals who want to make an impact in the community, has
always been focused on developing innovative solutions that would aid in the
advancement of society and people. We believe that education is a tool for
national growth and advancement, and that by educating young students, we are
effecting change not only in their lives, but also in the lives of their
families and, as a corollary, in the community as a whole.
The 'adopting government schools and scaling up its infrastructure' program, through which
our foundation has adopted over 168 schools in India, is among our
education-related ventures. After understanding the needs of a school, our team
of experts would work on the betterment of school buildings, classrooms,
drinking water, lavatories, benches and desks, and other crucial components of
the school's learning environment to promote better student results based on
the requirements the schools have. Excellent school infrastructure would not
only make learning more efficient, but it would also prevent more students,
particularly girls, from dropping out. In addition, our eclectic internal team
has devised an unique strategy for transforming and designing the school into a
model school in order to attract more students, based on numerous
brainstorming. The model school
will not only create a strong foundation for other educational institutions,
but it will also encourage and energize students to attend school with
enthusiasm and delight. As a result, student dropout rates would be reduced,
while enrolment and literacy rates would soar, contributing in the eradication
of child labour and child marriage, as well as providing all children with a
basic and necessary education that would equip them for future career
progression.
