EDUCATION ON WHEELS BY AAHWAHAN FOUNDATION
Aahwahan
Foundation is a grass-roots NGO with a pan-India presence that seeks to uplift
the vulnerable segments of the population through a variety of distinct
initiatives. Education, Health, Environment, Women Empowerment, and Community
Development are the five sectors in which the organization engages with. Aahwahan
has constantly come up with novel technological ideas that benefit society at
large, one of which is the "Education On Wheels" program in the
Education sector. Despite the fact that India is progressing and equipping
itself with new technologies to make studying more efficient and innovative,
students in government institutions don't really have the opportunity to do so.
Most students work more efficiently when they are actively engaged in
activities. Practical activity can actually help students know and understand.
A practical activity can help frame a class while also increasing student
involvement and knowledge retention. And, given the lower numbers of students
in government schools, it's challenging for anyone to establish up a laboratory
in each of the schools, consequently our team has come up with this awesome
initiative to tackle this limitation.
After analysing
and comprehending the needs of children in government schools and distant
areas, Education On Wheels was first launched in 2018. The van is equipped with
all of the necessary equipment for practical sessions in disciplines such as
science, computers, digital literacy, and so forth. In a single day, our team, which
consists of a driver, a trainer, and an assistant, will visit at least three
government schools in the same area, where students will be able to have
hands-on experience related to the curriculum they are learning. Furthermore,
practical experiments on theory have encouraged students to actively
participate in the learning process, allowing them to enjoy it while also
gaining a comprehensive knowledge on the subject. Aahwahan Foundation has
successfully worked with 128 government schools, making an impact in the lives
of more than twelve thousand students. However, seeing
that many schools have low enrolment and high dropout rates, particularly among
girls, our team of experts would visit to various villages to educate and
motivate parents and students about the necessity of Education for Poor Child of their
children. Along with giving tutoring, we also enable them in obtaining
employment in a variety of settings, allowing them to earn money and eventually
become self-sufficient and financially secure. We were able to reach out to
12680 students through our door-step education, with 713 dropout girls of them
completing their high school. 216 of these students were also able to find
employment in a variety of modest businesses with our assistance where they
could earn an income. Aahwahan has
been successful in providing digital literacy and spreading education awareness
to a substantial number of people, reaching students in even the most remote
areas, and in doing so, we have been able to influence the society by lessening
the dropout rates, ramping up literacy rates, and providing quality
education to students by encouraging them. The initiative has also benefited
students and their families by generating employment opportunities and
promoting gender equality.
