Communities impacted by a social crisis are in the best position to identify the solutions. Hence, leadership development is a vital constituent of social change work. A Grassroots NGO such as ours is pivotal to creating social change. At the core, we challenge the status quo, influence policy changes, educate communities, and advocate systemic transformations. E.g., women's empowerment would be futile without underlying economic freedom, while community development would be in vain without access to a sustained source of income. Lasting change is feasible only when social transformations are created from the ground up. It is this critical attribute that sets us apart from other NGOs.
The wide-ranging partnerships that the Aahwahan Foundation has developed with the public, private and social sectors at the national, state and regional levels would enable us to engage in policy transformations and mobilize resources, funding, and innovation crucial for poverty elimination on a large scale.
