FREE HEALTH FAMLY HEALTH KIT COVID-19
India was one of
the nations hammered hard by the COVID-19 pandemic, and the state of the
country was dire and terrifying as the second wave hit every nook and corner,
leaving people frightened for their survival. With an increase in cases and a
shortfall in the health-care system, several organizations and the government
have come up with a number of initiatives to provide more health-care services
to those who need them. The situation became so bad that it touched not only
the lowest of the poor, but even middle-class families, with more than 2 Crore
individuals losing their employment and wealth.
Aahwahan Foundation
is a grass root level NGO works in Health that works across India. The organization works in
five key sectors that promote society and people from marginalized communities.
In light of the current situation and the unpredictability of events, the
foundation has been working with a number of groups to aid and assist
individuals in any possible manner. The pandemic has impacted many people's
lives, and the majority of those who have been affected have lost their jobs,
leaving them in such financial circumstances that it's even difficult for them
to afford a day's worth of food and maintain safety precautions.
Aahwaha Foundation Support covid patients
During the first
and second waves of Covid, Aahwahan supported over 10 lakh individuals, with
initiatives such as supplying grocery kits to the needy, online education for
children from government schools, and bringing daily wage labourers back to
their hometown via flight, bus, and so on. When the second wave of Covid did
strike, we came to realize we needed to help the healthcare system, so our team
was able to provide 500 oxygen concentrators, 1000 oxygen cylinders, 900 Covid
patient beds, 46 thousand grocery kits, 46 thousand RTPCR kits, 10 ICU beds, and
36 thousand meals per day across India.
During which, things
were tense across the country, with the government enforcing severe guidelines
and restrictions to ensure the citizens' safety. And, in order to meet all of
these obligatory guidelines, people had to purchase many healthcare items such
as masks, gloves, and sanitizers, which added to their already high costs. Given
the situation of Indian families, the virus has a high probability of spreading
due to the large number of individuals in a single family and our team
subsequently decided to visit households in vulnerable populations to learn
about the issues and problems and the necessities they have. We came up with
the family health Kit initiative after referring to their issues and having
several discussions within our team. Each family health kit costs 5000 rupees
and contains an oximeter, a thermometer, sanitizers, a hundred masks (both N-95
and disposable), 100 gloves, and vitamin C tablets. We were able to provide
these kits to thousands of families across India, and we were able to
provide them to over 40 thousand families in Bangalore alone. Each product in
the health kit was carefully chosen by a team of experts to help
individuals stop the virus from spreading and to prepare for the upcoming wave
of the pandemic. In addition to keeping the virus from spreading, the health
kit will be extremely beneficial to those who have been infected with the
virus, as they will be required to adhere to tight guidelines. Along with this,
we are offering free online consultations to both Covid and non-Covid patients
(15 days Covid package including medicines), allowing them to complete the
consultations from the comfort of their own homes, thereby preventing the virus
from spreading further.
Aahwahan has always
stood by and supported the people through all of the misfortunes, and we will
remain to do everything we could to aid people in any capacity we can. Our team
is working to provide these health kits to 1 lakh families, which will relieve
them financially while also aiding in the fight against the virus's spread.
